The SpikeInterface team just had a meeting with Allen Institute’s Josh Siegle and some representatives from International Brain Laboratory (IBL) to discuss quality metrics for spike sorting evaluation.
The plan of action is that SpikeInterface will port over and support a slew of new quality metrics that were originally stored in the Allen Institute github organization. After these metrics are fully supported, SpikeForest is planning on using them in conjunction with their collection of ground truth datasets to evaluate the effectiveness of different quality measures. Exciting!
All code to compute the metrics is stored in the new module, SpikeMetrics. We will be integrating these metrics into SpikeToolkit’s Validation and Curation submodules as well.
